Lone Star Bulldog Club Member, Dixie Little

2007 was Dixie’s 50th year as a member of the Lone Star Bulldog Club. The members of the club felt this was the appropriate time to recognize her service to the club and its membership. Dixie got her first bulldog in 1957, her name was Peggy. From that small beginning Dixie developed into an avid bulldogger. She competed in confirmations shows for many years finishing several champions. Dixie put the show lead down after she became an AKC Judge of Bulldogs. Dixie is in the BCA Breeders Hall of Fame with 10 champions. She also has a Bitch, Ch. Little Brenda Lee, in the Brood Bitch Hall of fame. Dixie has served the BCA as National Secretary, National Councilor and Division IV Officer and Board Member. She has also held every office in the Lone Star Bulldog Club, never shirking a task. She has mentored an untold number of bulldoggers, showing them the proper sportsmanship, guiding them into the dog show world.

To express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for her 50 years of dedication to the Lone Star Bulldog Club, the bulldog breed, and to those wanting to learn more about exhibiting, raising and caring for their bulldogs, the Lone Star Bulldog Club has established a perpetual trophy honoring Dixie Little.

The Dixie L. Little trophy will be awarded at one of the Lone Star Bulldog Club’s annual Specialty Shows to the Best of Breed winner, if the exhibitor of the dog is also the breeder/owner. The year, name of the dog and the name of the breeder/owner/exhibitor will be engraved on plates that will be affixed to the trophy

Permanent possession of the Dixie L. Little trophy will be awarded if the trophy is won three times by the same breeder/owner/exhibitor but not necessarily with the same bulldog.

We at LSBC have relied on Dixie to guide us through the many years of changes with the Bulldog Club of America and the American Kennel Club, she has done so willingly and with no expectation of anything other than the betterment of our breed. It is a privilege for the members of the Lone Star Bulldog Club to bestow this well deserved honor to our champion, Dixie Little.
